Meals on Wheels

ElderCare of Alachua County offers congregate meal sites and home-delivered meals for seniors. Hot lunch is served at seven congregate meal sites throughout Alachua County. Each meal meets one-third of the required daily allowance (RDA) for the senior age group. A variety of activities are provided at meal sites, including arts and crafts, sewing, recreational and educational programs.

Hot lunch is delivered to home-bound clients in Alachua County. Each meal meets one-third of the RDA for the senior age group and the nutritional needs of the homebound senior. An added benefit to home meal deliveries is the personal contact provided by the volunteer or employee who delivers the meal.

Education is provided to all clients receiving meals at congregate meal sites or the home-delivered meal programs.
