Help Shape the Future of Dementia Care
We’re proud to share an important opportunity from our partners at the University of Florida for local caregivers to help improve care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD).
Researchers are exploring how shared decision-making impacts palliative and end-of-life care, with the goal of ensuring care aligns with each individual’s values, needs, and wishes.
Why It Matters
Caregivers play a critical role in navigating complex care decisions. This research aims to:
- Improve communication between families and providers
- Strengthen support systems for caregivers
- Enhance care outcomes for individuals with dementia
- Get Involved: Caregiver Advisory Council
UF is seeking family caregivers in the Gainesville area to join a Caregiver Community Advisory Council (CAC).
As a member, you can:
- Share your real-life caregiving experience
- Help shape research questions and design
- Provide insight to ensure findings reflect caregiver perspectives
Time Commitment:
- Up to 3 virtual meetings per year (1–2 hours via Zoom)
- Occasional feedback via email
This is a volunteer opportunity, with potential honorarium if funded. The project is expected to begin in 2027.
